ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team by ACM leads the way onto World Challenge Europe finale

It was an amazing week-end for ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team by ACM at the Nürburgring. The Chinese squad took its second win of the season in race-1, and thanks to the third place in race-2, it is now leading for the first time the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe with Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli. After a somehow difficult qualifying, the Italian duo, at the wheel of the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO, has been able to recover positions in both races, making the podium twice, thanks to one of the best pit-stop crews of the whole week-end. More importantly, beating twice the Mercedes #4’s direct rivals, the #563 car is now leading the Drivers’ championship, with just one round left, this coming weekend in Hungary. Andrea and Marco are also leading (on 128 points) the overall standings of the Blancpain GT Series, having recovered from the difficult round at Spa-Francorchamps. Thanks to the success in Germany, ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team by ACM increases its supremacy in the Teams’ standings, with 146,5 points. The Nürburgring round also saw a great Pro-Am battle, with the #519 driven by Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Phil Keen scoring two podiums, keeping the class lead with 102,5 points and a good chance to win the title in Budapest. After an unfortunate race-1, car #555 was also able to fight for the Silver Cup podium in race-2, finishing 4th in the class, and with a 16th place as best overall result set by Diego Menchaca and Taylor Proto. Like the entire Motorsport Family, ORANGE1 FFF Racing Team by ACM too payed tribute to Anthoine Hubert’s memory, sporting a sticker on its cars on Sunday.

Fu Songyang, ORANGE1 FFF Racing by ACM Team Owner
“What happened in Germany is incredible. We knew the car could have a good pace, but what the guys did is unbelievable. We had one of the fastest pit-stop in the race, as already happened in the previous races, and all our drivers have shown amazing moves, like Andrea’s overtake in race-1, which is the best moment of the year! All this brought us, and Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the second win of the year. Moreover, we are also for the first time leading the World Challenge Europe and we’re back on the top of the Overall Drivers’ championship. I can’t be prouder of what we have done together, especially if I think who are our opponents. This is the best way to approach this new experience”.
