Hankook Orange1 FFF Racing Team had a very positive and useful weekend at the Nürburgring Nordschleife ahead of the ADAC Total 24h Race, where the lights will go green in less than a month. After two days of testing, the team completed the highly competitive and demanding six-hour qualification race on Sunday May 9th, scoring a 19th place in the SP9 Pro class after 41 laps and successfully qualifying for the main event.
The four drivers Giacomo Altoè, Mirko Bortolotti, Marco Mapelli and Franck Perera, were able to show a consistent pace through the whole race at the “Green Hell” without encountering significant issues, racing in a packed multi-class field of 81 cars around the 25.37-kilometre track combining the Nordschleife and the Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit.
It was definitely a tough race for the Lamborghini Factory Drivers quartet at the wheel of the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO, managing traffic, avoiding dangerous situations, learning to get the maximum performance out of Hankook Ventus Race tyres and gaining more experience and data to help the team with the strategy and the set-up of the car for the 24-hour classic.
ADAC Total 24h Race is now next, with the whole team looking forward to battle for top positions through the whole race weekend, which will take place on June 3-6 as part of the NLS championship season.
Fu Songyang, Team Owner Hankook Orange1 FFF Racing Team
“We’ve been able to take another step forward in the preparation of what is a very important appointment for us in the 2021 season. A race like ADAC Total 24h Race requires really hard work to be prepared in a proper way in order to be competitive and successful, and I’m very happy with the job done by the team and the drivers during this last weekend. Not only for the final results, but also gathering data and experience to make us a serious contender for the top 10 in the race, which is what we aim for”.
